FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON, Dec. 29, 2024) National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) issued the following statement in reaction to the death of the 39th President of the United State Jimmy Carter:

“We are saddened to hear about the passing of President Jimmy Carter. He will be remembered for his accomplishments to include the establishment of the Department of Education to the brokering of the Camp David Accords. President Carter had extraordinary vision as it pertains to being an altruist. His tireless work advancing peace around the world, and fostering respect for human dignity domestically, will forever have us remember him as a true humanitarian and statesman. History will be a better judge as President Carter was a stalwart leader and moral man in an imperfect society. We thank him for being a stellar public servant until the end. Our prayers are with his family and the world.”
