Civil Rights Organizations Announce Virtual News Conference on SCOTUS Affirmative Action Decision Day

Coalition includes National Urban League, National Action Network, NAACP, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, National Council of Negro Women, UnidosUS, Asian Americans Advancing Justice — AAJC, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund

A coalition of civil rights groups will convene an online news conference within hours of the Supreme Court’s decisions on two major cases concerning the consideration of race in college admissions.

The news conference will take place via Zoom at 3pm, Eastern Time, following the announcement of the Court’s decisions on Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina and Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard University.

While the decisions could come at any time before the end of the month, they most likely will be announced on the morning of June 15, 16, or 22.

The news conference will be streamed live on the National Urban League’s Facebook page.
